These rates are for non-broadcast self-directed recording sessions including retakes as required until satisfied. Directed sessions using Skype, phone, etc. will incur an extra charge and will depend on availability.
NON-BROADCAST VOICEOVER FEES INCLUDE:
- All rights in all non-broadcast media for ever (Internet OK)
- Fast delivery of audio files – usually within 48 hours (US Central)
- Script preparation, such as researching pronunciations
- Recording and studio time
- Editing of mistakes and major breathes
- Audio level and sibilance optimisation to industry standard -3db
This is a guide to our rates. It is just a guide and we are quite flexible. Voiceover rates are generally determined by script duration, where it is to be used, for how long and the amount of editing or file cutting required.
If you have a long-term project or multiple scripts, we are always open to offering a good deal for you.

We can record your novels, factual e-books, training manuals, and more! We are able to provide audio files for Amazon, Audible, or any other platform.
Maybe you have written a series of existing e-books that you sell as Kindle books or via PDF file. Increase the value of your assets with engaging audio versions recorded by professional voiceover artists using broadcast quality equipment!
Audiobook versions can be listened to by your purchasers whether they are driving, at the gym, in their kitchen, wherever. Your buyers are ready to pay for it!
How are audiobooks different from other voiceovers?
For “long-haul” voice sessions, it’s really important to keep the listener in mind throughout the recording. Sometimes things written down come over very differently when read; you have to look out of these and adapt the ebb and flow of the pace of your voice to ensure the full meanings come across. Plus the timings between sentences is important as well; using dramatic pauses correctly in reading novels, especially where there are different characters speaking.
With all our projects, YOU, the client choose the style and the speed you’d like us to read – there are plenty of examples on our site. Then, after you have chosen a style, we will record the first page of your script and check with you it’s OK before tackling the rest. We do this completely FREE of charge, and you’re welcome to walk away without owing us anything at this stage if you don’t like what we do!
What do you get and for how much?
You’ll get edited, optimised files in whatever type of file you require. If you are going to sell your book via Amazon / Audible / ACX, then I will optimise the technical characteristics for this platform.
$300 USD per finished hour is for projects of 5 hours or less with edited, optimised material and you have all the rights. (About 45,000 words) Generous reductions are available for audio books that are over 5 hours in duration.
You own the rights of the files; the fee is a total “buy out” one. No surprise invoices when you sell a million!
Please note, we do not accept royalty only projects.
What do we need before we record?
- What voice style would you like?
For example, for a factual book, should I sound like the author, as if it were my own words, sounding natural and ad-libbing, or should it sound like a narrator reading a script? For a story or novel, do you want every character to have a different type of voice or accent? If so identify what you would like these to be. - Can you confirm with me that you have the rights of the material to have it recorded?
- How many sections are in your script? Do these need to be in different files, or different CD tracks?
- Can you confirm that these sections (if any) are clearly marked on your script?
- Can you let me know about any unusual pronunciations, and that they are clearly marked up on the script? Send me “Howjsay” or “Forvo” links if they are on there. If not, send me your own mp3 recordings of the pronunciation.
- What technical format do you require the mastered file(s) in?
.wav , .aiff, or in .mp3 format at maybe 96 kb/sec, 128kb/sec, or 256kb/sec?

FAQs
How quick is the turnaround time?
Usually in 24-48 hours with files sent by email or by a large secure file transfer service. If there are any problems with the recording, technically or editorially, we will re-record at the soonest opportunity, at of course, no extra cost. You can direct via Skype, Zoom, etc. if you like.
What audio studio equipment have you got?
We use a RODE NTG3 microphone, a CEntrance Mixerface R4, and we edit the recordings using Adobe Audition software. You can have files as either large.wav or .aiff files or .mp3 files at any data rate…most clients who want mp3s ask for 128kb or 320kb/sec, but it’s up to you. People usually choose the mp3 option if it’s for direct uploading to a website, Powerpoint use or for a phone answering service. The larger WAV or AIFF files are better for smooth video editing or for mixing with other files.
What sort of projects do voice over artists record?
A wide variety of material, including training video scripts and podcasts, audio books, commentaries for documentaries or corporate videos, web promotions, tourist audio guides, radio, TV & cinema commercials, exhibition videos, English versions of non-English films, even transport station announcements! What do you need sent from clients before you record?
- A script, which is fully checked, please, especially if it has been translated into English. Read it aloud yourself…does it make sense; is the grammar correct?
- If English is not your first language, we will happily check this for free and make changes with your permission.
- Are there any difficult or unusual pronunciations such as people’s names or place names we won’t be able to find out the pronunciation of? Please write these words out phonetically for me please, send us http://www.forvo.com/, http://www.howjsay.com, or why not send me mp3 files with you reading the word(s) slowly and clearly.
